The Moonbot terminal communicates with the exchange via the exchange’s API; API keys are required to access the API.
When you launch the Moonbot terminal for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your API keys, which consist of an API Key and an API Secret.
The API Key is a public key used to register the Moonbot terminal.
The API Secret is a private key used to sign orders. The private key is stored locally on your computer in encrypted form in the BotConfig.bcfg file, which Moonbot creates automatically. The private key is never transmitted over the internet!
To register API keys in the Moonbot terminal, you need to go to the Settings-Login tab and, from the "Exchange:" menu, select the exchange you wish to trade on; for example, if it is "Binance (spot market)", you should select "Binance" and click the "Apply" button.
In the "API Key" field, enter your API key.
In the "API Secret" field, enter your API secret.
Then click the "Register API keys" button.
If the API keys have been entered correctly, Moonbot will establish a connection with the exchange’s server; your Moonbot ID will be displayed in the settings window, and the status "Connection OK" will appear in the bottom-left corner of the main window. You do not need to re-enter the API keys when you launch the terminal again.
Step-by-step instructions for creating and registering API keys for exchanges that can be connected in the Moonbot terminal are available on our website in the Documentation section – "Settings → Login" Tab Overview: https://moonbot.pro/en/documentation/settings-login-tab/settings-login-tab-overview
